The comic book industry loves monsters and ghosts, but a new crowdfunding campaign is stripping away those tired tropes to deliver actual psychological dread. Still Infinity is a 70-page comic book anthology featuring six cosmic horror tales written and created by Manoj Gedela. Currently live on Kickstarter, the project ditches traditional jump scares and creature features. Instead, the collection focuses entirely on the unseen, the incomprehensible, and the inexplicable, giving readers cosmic horror in its purest form.
Why Lovecraft and Ligotti Fans Will Love Still Infinity
This anthology targets horror fans who prefer existential dread over cheap slasher gore. It speaks directly to readers who devour the works of authors like H.P. Lovecraft, Thomas Ligotti, Laird Barron, and Robert W. Chambers. Beyond literature, the book connects with the dark, atmospheric world-building found in Hidetaka Miyazaki’s video game Bloodborne. It’s built for anyone who has ever spent a sleepless night staring at the ceiling, wondering about humanity’s completely insignificant place in the cosmos.
Six Tales of Existential Dread!
The anthology splits into six distinct stories, each brought to life by a different interior artist to give every narrative its own visual identity:
Eaters of Truth: This story dives straight into ritualistic madness. Artist Nicolás Nieto captures the unsettling atmosphere as a cult member participates in a bizarre ritual dance during the ominous “Night of the Broken Moon.”
The Gunslinger that Outdrew Death: Ariel Quintero provides the artwork for this bleak Western hybrid. The plot follows a classic Faustian bargain, tracking the inevitable consequences that catch up to a gunslinger who managed to outdraw mortality itself.
The Assassination of Maharaja Vikramarka: Ramses Sandoval illustrates the chaotic reality of a historic political execution. The narrative charts the bizarre, otherworldly events that unfold on the night a notorious tyrant is assassinated.
A Pale Blue Dot: Bringing a touch of dark, satirical science fiction to the mix, Ricardo Parabere illustrates this tale. The story follows two alien roaches working tirelessly under the cosmic radar to hit their monthly corporate quota.
The Traveler from Takxria: Also illustrated by Ariel Quintero, this story shifts focus to an immortal traveler. The narrative tracks this eternal being’s destructive obsession with uncovering the answer to a fundamentally unanswerable cosmic question.
An Expected Visitor: Dany Pourrain provides the visuals for the final entry. The plot examines an isolated society of “Builders” whose entire culture and architecture center around anticipating the arrival of a mysterious entity known only as the Visitor.
