Marvel Comics is setting the stage for its next major event, Ultimate Endgame, with a new one-shot comic titled Ultimate Universe: Two Years In. Arriving in December, this special issue will provide a crucial look at the current state of the Ultimate Universe and reveal key secrets that will lead directly into the final showdown with the Maker.
Written by Deniz Camp and Alex Paknadel, with art from various top-tier artists, this issue follows up on last year’s Ultimate Universe: One Year In. Just as that comic introduced Nick Fury and the Maker’s Council, this new one-shot promises to be an essential read for anyone following the series.
Here’s what the creators have revealed:
The Ultimate Guardians Return: The one-shot will feature the return of the Ultimate Guardians, who have been traveling through time and space to recruit new and old heroes for the coming battle. Their role will be crucial to the events of Ultimate Endgame.
The Dawn of New Heroes: Fans will be introduced to several new characters, including the highly anticipated debut of Ultimate Daredevil. Writer Alex Paknadel teased that this version of Daredevil will be a “cosmic-level hero” while still retaining the core essence of the original.
An Ambitious Story: According to writer Deniz Camp, the story will be a sweeping epic, exploring the history of the universe from the birth of humanity to a dystopian future 2,000 years in the future. He promises “bold, new ideas and surprising twists on old characters.”
