Episode 6 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man brings high-stakes action, complicated friendships, and the arrival of a certain blind lawyer with a knack for rooftop battles. As Peter Parker struggles to balance his personal life with his superhero responsibilities, a break-in at Oscorp forces him into an unexpected showdown with Daredevil. Meanwhile, Lonnie Lincoln continues his descent into the gang world, making irreversible choices, and Norman Osborn starts to show his true colors.
“Duel with the Devil” kicks off with Peter attempting the impossible: getting Nico and Harry to bond. In an effort to merge his friend groups, he invites both over for a movie night, armed with board games and Predator (which, let’s be honest, is an excellent choice). But the awkwardness is thick, and Nico isn’t buying Harry’s friendly rich boy routine. She sees something off about him, but Peter, ever the optimist, brushes it off, hoping they can all just get along.
Unfortunately, superhero life doesn’t exactly wait for social gatherings to go smoothly. Norman Osborn interrupts Peter’s night off with a call—Oscorp is under attack, and Spider-Man needs to handle it. Who’s the intruder? None other than Daredevil, dressed in black and moving like a shadow. Peter quickly realizes this is no ordinary thief—Daredevil dodges every web, counters every punch, and moves with a level of precision that puts Spider-Man on the back foot for the first time in a while. The fight is beautifully animated, capturing both heroes’ agility and skill as they clash on the rooftop of Oscorp.
But Daredevil isn’t here to steal—he’s here to expose something. He warns Peter that Norman Osborn is hiding something big, something that could change everything. This leaves Peter rattled—does he trust Norman, his so-called mentor, or the masked vigilante who just wiped the floor with him?
Meanwhile, Lonnie Lincoln is facing problems of his own. The further he sinks into the 110th Street Gang, the more his old life crumbles. He gets kicked off the football team, drifts away from Pearl, and—worst of all—starts to accept that this is his new normal. When a member of the Scorpions follows him back to his gang’s hideout, tensions between the two rival factions escalate, leading to an ominous deal between Mac Gargan and Otto Octavius. Gargan is about to become something much more dangerous, setting up a terrifying villain transformation in the near future.

One of the strongest aspects of “Duel with the Devil” is its portrayal of Norman Osborn. We’ve seen hints before, but his manipulative nature starts to shine here. During a meeting with Secretary Ross, he subtly offers to hand over Spider-Man’s identity, as long as it benefits Oscorp. This isn’t the warm, supportive mentor Peter thinks he is—this is a man who plays the long game, and Peter is just another piece on the board.
Then there’s Daredevil. Having Charlie Cox voice him is an absolute treat, and the writers handle his introduction well. He’s cryptic, confident, and undeniably cool. He doesn’t need to prove himself to Peter—he already knows he’s right about Osborn. Their rooftop fight, while not exactly game-changing in terms of the overall plot, is an important moment for Peter. He’s starting to see that the world isn’t as black and white as he once thought, and not everyone in a suit and tie has his best interests at heart.
“Duel with the Devil” delivers a strong punch with a perfectly executed Daredevil introduction and a standout fight sequence with Spider-Man, while also effectively building personal drama through the escalating tension between Peter, Nico, and Harry. Norman Osborn’s manipulative nature continues to develop, promising a significant betrayal, and the Lonnie Lincoln subplot adds depth by highlighting the weight of individual choices. However, the animation, though functional, lacks the polish of previous Spider-Man animated endeavors, and certain emotional resolutions feel rushed, notably Peter’s phone reconciliation with Nico. Additionally, while Otto Octavius’s role is being established, his presence remains underdeveloped at this stage.
‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’ Season 1 Episode 6: A Devilish Encounter Shakes Up Peter’s World
Episode 6 of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man slows things down just enough to introduce some new wrinkles into Peter’s world. With Daredevil dropping cryptic warnings, Norman playing his own chess game, and Lonnie spiraling further into trouble, the stakes are only getting higher. The fight choreography is a highlight, and while not every moment lands perfectly, the storytelling remains strong.
