Hold onto your space helmets, Marvel and kaiju fans. The biggest news to roar out of New York Comic Con 2025 is the official announcement of ‘Godzilla: Infinity Roar,’ a new five-issue series that will send the King of the Monsters far beyond Earth’s atmosphere and into the heart of the Marvel Cosmos.
Godzilla’s rampage across the Marvel Comics Universe—which followed the Godzilla vs. one-shots and will conclude with Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe this November—is set for an interstellar escalation starting this February. As the initial press release teases, “After leaving a scorching mark on Marvel’s heroes, Godzilla ascends into space to unleash cosmic chaos!“
The colossal crossover will be penned by Gerry Duggan, who is reuniting with artist Javier Garrón following their work on Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe. The series will also feature art by Ig Guara.
But here’s where things get truly terrifying: the King of the Monsters is set to join forces with the King in Black, a.k.a. Knull, the God of Symbiotes! This unholy alliance, first hinted at in Godzilla vs. Spider-Man (2025) #1, sets the stage for one of the most drastic transformations in Godzilla’s history.
In a desperate, and perhaps foolish, move, “Earth’s mightiest heroes managed to spare Earth by exiling Godzilla off into space,” but according to the announcement, “in doing so may have just heralded the end of the larger galaxy!”
With Knull fanning the flames of Godzilla’s immense anger, a new campaign for galactic conquest begins. The series promises to pit the duo against the major cosmic powers of the Marvel Universe:
“One thing’s for sure, from the Galactic Empire of Wakanda, Shi’ar Empires, Kree-Skrull space and beyond, no planet will be safe as Godzilla destroys the Marvel galaxy!”
Writer Gerry Duggan made a surprise appearance at the NYCC Retailer Panel and shared his enthusiasm for the monstrous new project:
“Most movie stars are a giant pain in the ass, but not Godzilla, who has been a privilege and a joy to collaborate with, and the fun will continue in outer space,” Duggan shared. “And I can say the ideas that are in the mix now are going to make this the biggest, craziest, and most dangerous Godzilla crossover ever. The Marvel Universe has never been in more peril! See you in space.”
‘Godzilla: Infinity Roar #1’ is set to hit shelves on February 4th, featuring a main cover by Ken Lashley and variants by Josemaria Casanovas and David Marquez.
