For starters, it throws you right into the action with fan-favorite magic users Nico Minoru and the Scarlet Witch, Wanda Maximoff. Nico, who can turn any word into a magic spell with her Staff of One, finds herself on a wild goose chase after a terrible game-night-turned-real, with a dragon chasing her through the streets of Manhattan.
The story has great team-up potential as Nico eventually runs into Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, who is Billy Kaplan’s mother. If you know Wanda, you know her magic operates on chaos, which is a total blast when she has to deal with Nightmare, Lord of Fear. They get pulled into a parallel dimension that was created when Nico, her girlfriend Karolina Dean, Billy Kaplan, and his husband Teddy Altman started playing a cursed role-playing game.
The whole story is a fun, thrilling ride as Wanda and Nico try to figure out the rules of the game to rescue their loved ones. The issue leaves you hanging on a cliffhanger, with the two witches heading to the Sanctum Sanctorum to get help from Doctor Strange.
