What happens to a dictatorship when the dictator disappears? Marvel is about to answer that question in the explosive new anthology series, Dungeons of Doom. With Doctor Doom gone, the vaults of Latveria are wide open, and the race is on to claim the dangerous technology and eldritch horrors hidden within.
Dungeons of Doom #1 explores the smoldering aftermath of One World Under Doom. Latveria has fallen into anarchy, and it has become ground zero for an all-out arms race. Various factions are converging on the castle, desperate to loot the former Emperor’s secrets before anyone else can. This issue features stories from powerhouse writers Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Benjamin Percy, who are setting the stage for the future of the Marvel Universe.
Inside the Issue
The preview teases four distinct storylines, each brought to life by a stellar lineup of artists. The action kicks off with Red Hulk crashing the party in a story illustrated by Carlos Magno. Thunderbolt Ross goes head-to-head with Hydra forces as both sides attempt to breach the dungeon gates. Meanwhile, artist Robert Gill takes readers deep underground, where the Latverian Freedom Fighters face a gruesome, many-eyed monster unleashed from the depths.
While the armies clash at the front, a story by Justin Mason follows a solo Wakandan agent who drops from the skies to chart a silent path toward the prize. Finally, Georges Jeanty provides the art for a tale where Hydra agents manage to infiltrate a dungeon. They get their hands on a mysterious axe, but they may have found more trouble than treasure. Don’t miss the start of this new era for Latveria.
Dungeons of Doom #1 features covers by Leinil Francis Yu and hits shelves on January 14, 2025.
