Marvel Comics has unveiled the next wave of its upcoming “Bring On the Bad Guys” event, confirming three new one-shots set for release this July. The seven-part saga, celebrating iconic villains, will feature dedicated issues for Green Goblin, Abomination, and Loki.
These July releases continue the overarching narrative thread involving Mephisto recruiting villains for a mysterious purpose, a plot spearheaded by writer Marc Guggenheim that also introduces the new character Sister Sorrow.
The July lineup includes:
- Green Goblin #1: Ever wonder about the details of Norman Osborn’s deal with Mephisto? Writers Ethan S. Parker & Griffin Sheridan team up with artist Matteo Della Fonte to dig into the Green Goblin’s terrifying past and the mysterious “Soul Forge.”
- Abomination #1: Writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson and artist Sergio Dávila show us Emil Blonsky doing what he does best – making monstrous deals. Tasked by Mephisto to collect a soul for a secret reward, the Abomination is ready to prove he’s the perfect monster for any job.
- Loki #1: It’s the God of Mischief versus the Lord of Lies! Writer Anthony Oliveira pits Loki against Mephisto in a battle of wits spanning centuries. When Loki needs a favor, Mephisto demands a soul in return – specifically, one belonging to an agent of Khonshu. But as we know, Loki doesn’t take orders well!
Editor Mark Paniccia noted the event aims to delve into the complexity and threat level of Marvel’s greatest antagonists.

The “Bring On the Bad Guys” event begins in June 2025 with a Doom-centric issue, followed by these three titles in July. More details are expected soon.
