Thirty years after the groundbreaking comic event, the world of the Age of Apocalypse is back. Marvel is celebrating the anniversary with a new six-part event series, X-Men of Apocalypse, which will see the iconic alternate reality team collide with their classic counterparts in the main Marvel Universe.

The series is a direct sequel to the 1990s crossover and is brought to you by some of the original creative minds. Legendary writer Jeph Loeb (who co-created Nate Grey) returns, teaming up with Eisner-nominated artist Simone Di Meo. In a major surprise for fans, artist Joe Madureira, whose distinct style helped define the original event, is also back to draw a series of special variant covers.

What to Expect

  • The action kicks off with X-Men of Apocalypse Alpha #1 in September, leading into the main four-issue series in November.
  • The story follows the X-Men from the Age of Apocalypse as they travel to the main Marvel Universe on a desperate mission to save their reality. This will, of course, lead to an epic showdown with the Uncanny X-Men!
  • Fan-favorite characters from the original series are returning, including Nate Grey (X-Man), along with the complicated love triangle of Rogue, Magneto, and Gambit. You can also expect to see the breakout star Blink in the spotlight.
  • The series will feature multiple stunning covers, including art by Simone Di Meo, Arthur Adams, Fanyang, and the returning Joe Madureira.

This new event promises to be a nostalgic but fresh take on one of the most beloved X-Men stories of all time.

X-Men of Apocalypse Alpha #1 arrives on September 3.
