Big news just dropped at San Diego Comic-Con. Marvel Comics is continuing its epic crossover series with the Alien franchise, and this time, Captain America is in the crosshairs. Get ready for ‘Alien vs. Captain America,’ a new four-issue limited series hitting shelves this November. Imagine Steve Rogers facing off against the terrifying Xenomorphs, unleashed on the frontlines by his greatest villains.
The series, penned by superstar writer Frank Tieri and drawn by acclaimed artist Stefano Raffaele, follows last month’s blockbuster Aliens vs. Avengers. In Alien vs. Captain America, Hydra, desperate for a new weapon to defeat the Allies, sends the Red Skull’s operative, Baron Strucker, to the Himalayas. He’s looking for the fabled city of Attilan (home of the Inhumans), but instead, he uncovers something far more deadly: Xenomorphs.
Now, it’s up to Captain America and the Howling Commandos to stop the Skull and his terrifying new alien weapons. As the solicit text asks, “Will the First Avenger learn that in war-torn Europe… no one can hear you scream?” This promises to be a thrilling blend of horror and heroics!
Writer Frank Tieri couldn’t be more excited about the project. “Here you have two of the most iconic properties in entertainment: Captain America, who is basically the ultimate hero, going against Alien, one of the ultimate names in horror,” Tieri shared. “As a writer, what more can you ask for than that?”
He deliberately set the story in WWII to play with classic elements like Cap vs. Red Skull, Baron Strucker’s expedition, Bucky interacting with the Howling Commandos, and Hydra weaponizing the Xenomorphs. Fans can expect a mix of intense horror, classic heroics, and plenty of surprises.
‘Alien vs. Captain America’ #1 (of 4) is written by Frank Tieri, with pencils by Stefano Raffaele. The main cover is by Leinil Francis Yu, and there’s a chilling foil variant cover by Dan Panosian. Mark your calendars: ‘Alien vs. Captain America’ #1 goes On Sale November 5th!
