Doctor Doom Takes Over the Marvel Universe This July!

April 13, 2025

Brace yourselves, Marvel fans! This July, the entire Marvel Universe falls under the iron fist of its most notorious villain in the epic “One World Under Doom” event. Doctor Doom has achieved his ultimate ambition – global domination – and our favorite heroes are scrambling to survive and fight back in this dark new reality.

Marvel Comics has just unveiled the tie-in issues hitting shelves in July 2025, revealing how different corners of the universe are coping (or resisting!) Doom’s reign. Here’s a sneak peek at what to expect:

Avengers #28: With Doom seemingly in control, the Avengers aren’t just fighting him – they’re battling the Masters of Evil who’ve taken over their base, the Impossible City! Expect an “Avengers Reunited!” moment as the team gathers to take down the villains, but the Mad Thinker has a deadly new weapon waiting. On Sale 7/2.

Doctor Strange of Asgard #5 (Finale): Even Asgard isn’t immune! In this series finale, Stephen Strange finally gets to the bottom of a murder mystery, leading to a magical confrontation that could reshape Asgard’s future. Will he become Asgard’s new Sorcerer Supreme? On Sale 7/9.

Doom’s Division #5 (Finale): White Fox imprisoned her own team, but they’re breaking free! This final issue sees Doom’s handpicked squad demanding answers and fighting for their future. Who can be trusted when allegiances shatter? On Sale 7/23.

Iron Man #10: Tony Stark’s fighting Doom from the shadows, but just as he thinks he’s found a winning strategy, an old foe returns – Iron Monger! Can the “Insurgent Iron Man” take down this classic villain before his plans crumble? On Sale 7/23.

Red Hulk #6: Thunderbolt Ross paid the price for attacking Latveria. Now branded a war criminal under Doom’s law, he’s locked up in a secret gamma-research prison run by… the War-Wolf! Get ready for a gamma-powered showdown! On Sale 7/9.

Runaways #2: The fan-favorite team is back, but how long can they truly run from Emperor Doom? Chase Stein returns from the future, acting suspicious, especially towards Gert. What dark future did he witness? On Sale 7/16.

Superior Avengers #4: Doom’s handpicked team of villains-turned-heroes is starting to crack. As they try to solidify their place as Earth’s new Mightiest Heroes, questions of loyalty arise. Can this volatile team hold together to achieve Doom’s (or their own) goals? On Sale 7/9

G.O.D.S.: One World Under Doom #1 (One-Shot): Event architect Ryan North pens this special issue exploring the cosmic side of Doom’s takeover. Wyn, Avatar of The-Powers-That-Be, and his apprentice Mia investigate how Doom achieved his rule. But Doom sees potential in Mia and might try to sway her away from Wyn. It’s science vs. magic on a cosmic scale! On Sale 7/30.

“One World Under Doom” looks set to reshape the Marvel landscape. Each of these tie-ins offers a unique perspective on life under Latveria’s ruler, showcasing the desperation, heroism, and intrigue of a world conquered.

Mark your calendars for July 2025 and prepare to witness the Marvel Universe like you’ve never seen it before – under DOOM!

July 2025 is packed with action, intrigue, and moral quandaries as the Marvel Universe grapples with life under Emperor Doom. Don’t miss seeing how your favorite heroes (and villains!) navigate this complex new world!

DC’s “All In” initiative unleashes its first major crossover, We Are Yesterday. This six-part epic, spearheaded by Mark Waid, spans Batman/Superman: World’s Finest, Justice League Unlimited, and the Batman/Superman: World’s Finest 2025 Annual, with a team of co-writers and artists contributing to the grand event.

The first chapter debuts on April 16th in Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #38, pitting Gorilla Grodd against Superman and Batman. Grodd’s psychic abilities seemingly give him glimpses into the future, and he may even hold clues to Darkseid’s death!

The second part of the crossover event unfolds in Justice League Unlimited #6, written by Mark Waid with art by Travis Moore. As the mystery of the Inferno Cult deepens, the League faces a terrifying revelation: the cult’s ranks include some of their most formidable foes, from Lex Luthor and The Joker to Cheetah.

Batman and his allies pose confidently against a vibrant red background, showcasing their unity and strength.

Part three arrives on April 30th with Batman/Superman: World’s Finest 2025 Annual. Written by Mark Waid, Christopher Cantwell, and Morgan Hampton, with art by Dan McDaid and Clayton Henry, this issue reveals the secret origins of DC’s premier supervillain team and marks the World’s Finest debut of Green Lantern John Stewart.

Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #38 hits shelves on April 16th, followed by Justice League Unlimited #6 on April 23rd. Rounding out the month, the Batman/Superman: World’s Finest 2025 Annual arrives on April 30th.

Review

This crossover event promises to be an exciting expansion of the narratives unfolding in both Batman/Superman: World’s Finest and Justice League Unlimited, especially with Mark Waid at the helm of both titles! The “Inferno” storyline in Justice League Unlimited has been a slow burn. With that said, I am thrilled at the prospect of this event propelling us further into DC’s ambitious “All-In” initiative.
