Marvel’s newest Doctor Strange comic series promises to be an epic journey, taking the Sorcerer Supreme on a mind-bending adventure across the mystical realms. Written by Derek Landy with art by Ivan Fiorelli, the new ongoing series kicks off in December.
The story picks up with Stephen Strange as the Sorcerer Supreme of Asgard, but a cosmic event leaves him stranded far from Earth. When Thor is reborn as a mortal, the connection between Midgard and the other realms is severed. Now with no way home, Strange must team up with the long-awaited returning character Angela for a true “Journey Into Mystery.”
Strange will be armed with new abilities thanks to his growing proficiency with Asgardian magic, and he will need them as he faces ancient threats and new enemies. Fans can expect to meet new characters like the royal family of Heven and a dark elvish sorcerer.
To get a taste of what’s to come, be sure to check out the DOCTOR STRANGE #450 one-shot, which includes a special prelude story that sets up Strange’s new mission and his new look, designed by artist Geoff Shaw.
This new series is shaping up to be a wild ride, and both Landy and Fiorelli are excited to take fans along for the adventure. They promise a story that will get “bigger, crazier, and more mind-bending.”
