This October, the highly anticipated 250th issue of Venom is hitting comic shop shelves, and it’s bringing back one of Venom’s most formidable foes: Knull, the creator of all symbiotes!

Celebrating 616 Day, Marvel Comics has officially announced that this landmark issue will feature the return of Knull, who first burst onto the scene in Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman’s iconic Venom run in 2018. Knull quickly solidified his place as a top-tier Marvel villain, even headlining the King in Black crossover event and making a big-screen appearance in last year’s Venom: The Last Dance. Now, he’s back with a vengeance!

Al Ewing, the current writer for All-New Venom (2024), teams up with superstar artist Terry Dodson to kick off a major new symbiote saga. In Venom #250, Knull is out for revenge against Venom, who is currently bonded with Mary Jane Watson. Mary Jane, who has been embracing her new role as Venom and using her powers in unique ways, is completely unaware of the looming darkness and the return of the symbiote god.

Ewing shared his excitement about Knull’s comeback, noting that Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman created a villain with “big villain juice.” He emphasizes Knull’s visually striking design, clear motivations, immense power, and the benefit of having been absent for a while. “When a big bad is allowed to lay fallow and drift into memory, what’s remembered is all the things readers liked about them – and that’s when it’s time for a comeback,” Ewing explains, adding that a good villain is “never out.”

This giant-sized celebratory issue isn’t just about Knull! It will also feature a thrilling tale by Eddie Brock: Carnage writer Charles Soule and All-New Venom artist Carlos Gomez. This story will take readers back to Eddie Brock’s time as Venom, offering another exciting glimpse into the symbiote’s history.

And for those wondering about the future, All-New Venom will revert to its original Venom numbering after this issue, continuing the legacy with Venom #251!

Don’t miss out on this monumental return! Head to your local comic shop today to check out the cover and preorder Venom #250! Are you ready for Knull’s return?
