December is officially All Fight Month in the DC Universe, as the epic DC K.O. event heats up. The initial field of 32 heroes has been whittled down to 16, and now they’re set to clash in a series of brutal, one-on-one battles for a shot at ultimate power.
This month-long slugfest, running from December 3rd to the 24th, will feature eight intense matchups across tie-in issues and special one-shots. DC K.O. co-architect Scott Snyder explained that the idea for “All Fight Month” came from the need for a major brawl section within the tournament’s storyline. He promised that these fights, which pit friends and foes against each other, will deliver shocking and thrilling results.
While some of the opponents are still a mystery, we do know the headliners for several key rounds. Kicking things off on December 3rd is DC K.O.: Superman vs. [REDACTED] #1, written by Joshua Williamson. The battles continue with Aquaman #12 and DC K.O.: Wonder Woman vs. [REDACTED] #1 on December 10th. The carnage continues on December 17th with Titans #30 and DC K.O.: Harley Quinn vs. [REDACTED] #1, which promises a chaotic showdown against a surprise opponent. The final rounds on December 24th feature The Flash #28, Superman #33, and the ruthless finale, DC K.O.: Red Hood vs. [REDACTED] #1, which is described as a personal grudge match.
In addition to the main tournament, December will also see two important tie-ins. On December 3rd, DC K.O. Knightfight #2 continues Bruce Wayne’s brutal gauntlet against future Batmen, including a battle with a very dark version of his own legacy. Then, on December 24th, Justice League Unlimited #14 will show Mr. Terrific facing off against the demonic Neron in a heartbreaking story that promises to reshape the fate of humanity.
Want to know who our heroes are fighting? Tune in to the DC K.O.: What’s Next panel at NYCC on October 11th, where Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson will reveal all the mystery opponents and share more exciting news about the event.
