This isn’t your grandma’s King Arthur story. Superstar creators Tom Taylor (known for Dark Knights of Steel and Nightwing) and Daniele Di Nicuolo (Nightwing, Seven Secrets) are teaming up with colorist Rain Beredo and letterer Wes Abbott to bring a fresh, original take on the legendary tale.
For centuries, a secret society called the Camelot Corps has been guarding ancient myths, just waiting for the right moment to unleash them upon the world. Well, that day has arrived!
Imagine this: Young Fel, Connor, and their friends are just minding their own business when a giant stone nearly flattens them. But this isn’t just any stone – it has a sword stuck right in it! When Fel pulls the sword free, her friends suddenly find themselves connected to their own Arthurian legends, and a brand-new adventure begins.
These aren’t your typical heroes, though. They’re just kids, chosen by destiny to wield ancient, magical weapons. And get this: these weapons talk! Not only do they talk, but they bicker like nobody’s business, because they’re fused with the spirits of the original Knights of the Round Table. Daniele Di Nicuolo is “thrilled” to be part of a project that represents a “first for DC,” and he can’t wait for readers of all ages to meet this new band of heroes.
Tom Taylor revealed that C.O.R.T. has been brewing in his mind for a long time. “Like King Arthur asleep in a mountain, waiting for the day he will wake, CORT has been in my mind… These brave young heroes will finally rise, and I couldn’t imagine anything more perfect than to partner with Daniele Di Nicuolo and DC Comics to bring them to the world.” He added that this new team of champions will join the ranks of DC’s greatest, like the Justice League and the Titans, to take on a tyrant.
This exciting new six-issue series will kick off with a special 40-page first issue, followed by 32-page comics for the rest of the run. Look out for stunning main covers by Daniele Di Nicuolo, and awesome variant covers by artists like Darko Lafuente and Nicoletta Baldari, with more incredible artists contributing throughout the series.
