After the dramatic events of the previous three episodes, one might expect a more subdued conclusion, but the Andor finale delivers some of the most tense and impactful moments of the series. While some characters meet their end, others, surprisingly, have their journeys continue.

Episode 10: “Make It Stop”

Espionage has been a key theme throughout the entire series, with undercover agents, secret identities, and hidden agendas defining much of Andor. So, it’s fitting that the final arc begins in the same spirit. Things kick off on Coruscant, where Luthen receives intel from his Imperial contact, Lonni Jung. He learns the real motive behind the Ghorman Massacre, the Empire’s urgent need for calcite to fuel the construction of the Death Star, and that Dedra Meero is closing in on him. Luthen promises to get Lonni and his family safely to Yavin, but the next time we see Lonni, he’s slumped on a bench, dead from a blaster wound.

Luthen connects with Kleya, who takes center stage here and has her commit to memory everything he learned from Lonni. Afterward, he heads to the back of his antiquities shop to destroy the communications gear hidden there. That’s when he’s confronted by Dedra. At first, he tries to maintain his cover as the refined antique dealer, but it quickly becomes clear she’s closing in on the truth.

Neither Luthen nor Dedra bothers to hide their contempt for one another, openly expressing their beliefs while ignoring the other’s point of view. They embody the extremes of their respective causes: Dedra with her relentless, arrogant drive, and Luthen with his impassioned defense of freedom and belief in a galaxy rising against tyranny. As their confrontation peaks, Luthen seizes a moment of distraction and plunges a blade into his own chest. Dedra, determined to extract answers, immediately summons a medical team to keep him alive for interrogation.

The rest of the episode shifts focus to Kleya as she searches for Luthen, now critically injured and under intensive care. Along the way, we’re shown flashbacks of how she first met him as a young stowaway on his ship, and how she quickly became his protégée, learning to profit from ancient relics and eventually joining his fight against the Empire. These scenes reveal both the hardened agent we’ve come to know and the vulnerable orphan who likely saw Luthen as a father figure. Once she finds him, she quietly disconnects his life support, staying by his side as he dies. It’s the most emotionally raw we’ve seen her, fully aware that ending his life is the only way to safeguard the vital secrets he carries.

Episode 11: “Who Else Knows?”

This episode begins with Supervisor Heert leading the investigation into Luthen’s death, ultimately holding Dedra responsible. She’s been arrested for exceeding her authority in her relentless hunt for “Axis.” Now under interrogation by Orson Krennic, he’s alarmed that crucial information about the Death Star might have fallen into rebel hands.

Dedra persuades Krennic to shift focus to Kleya, arguing that she possesses the same critical knowledge Luthen did. True to Imperial form, their motivations are driven by self-preservation. Meanwhile, Kleya reaches a secure hideout where she pieces together a communicator and transmits an encrypted message. On Yavin, Wilmon picks up the signal and rushes it to Cassian Andor, who is enjoying a rare moment of peace, playing cards with Melshi and K-2SO.

Defying orders, Cassian, Melshi, and K-2SO head to Coruscant, believing they’re mounting a mission to save Luthen. Back on Yavin, General Draven is outraged by Wilmon’s actions and places him under house arrest. Meanwhile, the Empire zeroes in on Kleya’s location by tracking her transmission, narrowing in on the safe house. Cassian and the Imperial forces race toward her, but Cassian reaches her first. She reveals that Luthen died to protect vital information about the Death Star, urging Cassian to carry his message forward. The episode ends on a suspenseful note as the Empire closes in, and Kleya, resisting the idea of fleeing to Yavin, pleads with Cassian to take up Luthen’s cause.

Episode 12: “Jedha, Kyber, Erso”

The final episode opens with K-2SO, having tracked the Imperial movements. He proves his loyalty to Cassian by eliminating the threat and creating a path to escape. Cassian, carrying an injured Kleya, returns to their ship and flies them back to Yavin.

However, their arrival isn’t met with open arms. Instead, they’re greeted with suspicion. Alongside Mon Mothma, Admiral Raddus, and other key Rebel figures, Bail questions both the credibility of Luthen and the truth of what Cassian brings. The episode highlights the deep-rooted distrust within the fledgling Rebellion, an alliance formed by individuals who joined the cause separately, often unaware of the other’s actions.

Cassian passionately defends Luthen, telling the Rebel leadership that none of them would be there without him. Despite this, Mon Mothma still has her doubts and secretly asks Vel to keep an eye on Cassian to verify the accuracy of his claims. But when Vel meets with Cassian, their conversation centers more on their shared past and the toll the fight has taken. This shared moment of remembrance reinforces Vel’s belief that Cassian is being honest and that Luthen was loyal to the Rebellion until the very end.

Then, in what may be the most pivotal scenes of the series, we witness the true birth of a unified Rebellion. General Draven informs Cassian that his contact on Kafrene has responded, and the two finally speak with trust and mutual respect. Later, Mon quietly approaches Bail Organa and simply says, “you need to hear us out.” The next time we see Bail, he’s fully on board—sending Cassian to Kafrene as part of the now-cohesive Rebel network. The series finale wraps with a montage of characters coming to terms with their choices and preparing for the fight ahead.

The final scene reveals the droid B2EMO still on Mina-Rau. The camera then shifts to show Bix walking through a field, carrying a baby. This moment clarifies that she left Yavin at the end of episode 9 to protect her and Cassian’s child.

Andor has set the standard for Star Wars television, raising the bar incredibly high for any future series. With Rogue One already serving as a follow-up, it’s likely this is the last time we’ll see most of these characters in live action. While it’s sad to say goodbye, we should appreciate the time we’ve had with them.
