It’s official: San Diego Comic-Con 2025 just dropped some massive news for Marvel Comics fans. Get ready for the epic conclusion of ‘One World Under Doom’ and the start of a brand-new mystery: Who will be the next Sorcerer Supreme?

The highly anticipated Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing Panel at SDCC delivered big. Writer Ryan North unveiled the stunning cover for ‘One World Under Doom’ #9, the final issue of his and R.B. Silva’s monumental series that has reshaped the Marvel Universe over the past year.

Set to hit shelves on November 5th, Ben Harvey’s cover for ‘One World Under Doom’ #9 dramatically hints at Doom’s ultimate defeat. While his reign may be ending, the ripple effects of his actions will be felt for a long, long time.

In this explosive finale, Doom has conquered Earth’s heroes and used his Sorcerer Supreme powers to solidify his victory, making it impervious to magic or time travel. However, unbeknownst to him, this very act also cemented the seeds of his own downfall. Faced with an unchangeable defeat, Doom makes a choice that will have devastating consequences for the entire world.

North teased the upcoming issues, explaining that the second half of the story reveals the “behind the scenes” consequences of Doom’s actions. He also highlighted that issue #8 will bring some “big stuff” before the grand finale in issue #9.

With Doom’s potential fall, the question arises: Will he retain his mantle as Sorcerer Supreme, or will a new mystical protector rise to the occasion? Marvel also revealed a new promotional image by artist Devmalya Pramanik, showcasing potential candidates for the coveted title. The mystery of the next Sorcerer Supreme has officially begun, and we’ll learn more in the coming months!
