Marvel is shaking things up big time with Age of Revelation, a brand new series kicking off in October that fast-forwards the Marvel Universe ten years into the future.
This new era introduces a mutant utopia, but it’s one created by Apocalypse’s heir, Doug Ramsey, also known as Revelation, and it threatens to take over the entire Earth. Get ready to see your favorite heroes, like Spider-Man and Wolverine, navigating a world drastically changed by Revelation’s unstoppable rise to power.
The journey into “Age of Revelation” actually begins this week with a surprise prelude issue, “Age of Revelation #0,” followed by “Age of Revelation Overture #1” in October. This new storyline will even evolve the entire current X-Men line.
Marvel has been teasing out details about several new series, and today they revealed four more exciting titles, all hitting shelves on October 22nd:
The Last Wolverine: Get ready for a new Wolverine! This series follows Wendigo, who has taken up the mantle as Logan’s last student. What happened to Logan? This series promises to uncover a secret from Wolverine’s past that will send Wendigo on a mission to uphold his mentor’s legacy.
Omega Kids: Quentin Quire (Kid Omega, all grown up!) is now the head of Revelation Territories’ spy network, protecting the dream of mutant supremacy. But when a conspiracy threatens their utopia, Quire and his psychic students will have to decide who to trust.
Radioactive Spider-Man: Ten years after the mysterious X-Virus ravaged New York, Spider-Man is still fighting. In a desperate move, Peter Parker douses himself with radiation to fight off the infection, turning him into a dangerous, mutated Spider-Man.
X-Men: Book of Revelation: This is a core title by “Age of Revelation” architect Jed MacKay, offering an inside look at how Revelation’s rule works. After an assassination in his capital city of Philadelphia, Revelation welcomes a new mutant, but the city is full of dangers, including rival Choristers vying for Revelation’s favor.
Marvel has already revealed 13 new “Age of Revelation” series, and today, they’ve unveiled the final four, all hitting stands on October 29:
Expatriate X-Men: Meet the next generation of X-Men, including Ms. Marvel, Bronze, Melee, and Rift. This team directly opposes Revelation’s rule, using guerrilla tactics to control the Mississippi River and divide mutantkind from humanity.
Cloak or Dagger: In a bold twist, the iconic duo Tandy and Tyrone have tied the knot, but their bond comes with a terrible cost: they can no longer exist on the same plane at the same time. This series explores their love story warped by power and fate.
Undeadpool: Deadpool as you’ve never seen him before! Ten years later, the X-Virus has finally given Wade Wilson what he always wanted—to be a mutant. But not like this! His healing factor is in overdrive, and he now has an insatiable hunger for the life force of other mutants.
X-Vengers: Earth still needs the Avengers, but what happens when the remaining heroes have transformed into mutants? Dani Moonstar leads a new squad of “X-Vengers,” including Hawkeye, Vision, Water Widow, Shang-Chi, Variable Man, and Cannonball, as they protect a planet divided by the Revelation Territories.
