September 20, 2025

As the year winds down, it feels like Marvel is throwing a huge, bittersweet holiday party. Some of our favorite heroes are getting ready to say their goodbyes, while others are just showing up with a wild new look, ready to kick off the next big thing.

But as one door closes, a new one swings wide open, and we’re seeing the first glimpses of brand-new eras and creative teams ready to leave their mark. It’s like getting a peek at the next big event before anyone else, with fresh starts and bold new directions for some of Marvel’s most beloved characters.

Here’s a quick rundown of Marvel December 2025 Solicitations, what we noticed, and what we think is worth keeping an eye on:

The Ultimate Universe Hits Its Endgame

If you’ve been following the new Ultimate line, December is the month you’ve been waiting for. Everything that’s been building up is finally coming to a head in Ultimate Endgame #1, a five-part series that’s the grand finale to the “Ultimate Invasion” storyline. The Maker is back, and he’s had thousands of years to prepare inside his ‘City.’ Now, with the barrier gone, heroes from across the Ultimate Universe have to team up to stop him before it’s too late.

This big event is spun out of the pages of Ultimates #19, where Wasp’s double-agent status gets exposed just as the Maker emerges. Plus, other Ultimate titles are wrapping up their own arcs. You’ll see the end of Jonathan Hickman and Marco Checchetto’s run on Ultimate Spider-Man #24, which is a huge deal, since this series has been a fan favorite. Ultimate Black Panther #23, Ultimate Wolverine #12, and Ultimate X-Men #22 also have their climactic showdowns, so you’ll want to be caught up on those.

The X-Men’s “Age of Revelation” Concludes

Speaking of finales, another major storyline wrapping up is the “Age of Revelation” saga. A lot of these books have been running for a while, and December brings the final issues for a whole bunch of them. Rogue Storm #3 sees Rogue and Storm face an ancient evil they accidentally unleashed. Expatriate X-Men #3 has the team facing off against Darkchild. We’ve also got the final chapters for Laura Kinney: Sabretooth #3, The Last Wolverine #3, and Amazing X-Men #3. It all culminates in the X-Men: Age of Revelation Finale #1 one-shot, where Revelation’s true plan is finally revealed, and the world is changed forever. This is the month to see how all those plot threads get tied up.

Venom’s Bold New Look and Name

This is one of the biggest surprises of the month! The rumors are true: in Venom #252, the symbiote is sporting a new red-and-blue suit and a brand-new name to go with it. He’s New York’s newest Spider-Man, and not everyone is happy about it. The issue features a throwdown with Luke Cage and Otto Octavius, and there’s a bonus flashback story from the classic Amazing Spider-Man #252 creative team. It’s a huge shift for the character and something that’s bound to have fans talking.

New Beginnings and Cosmic Crises

It’s not all endings! A new magic era kicks off with the death of the Sorcerer Supreme in Sorcerer Supreme #1. A rogue new Sorcerer rises, ready to break all the rules. This also ties into a new Doctor Strange #1 series, which finds Stephen stranded in Asgard and traveling to Alfheim to stop a potential war. On the cosmic side, The End 2099 #1 starts a new series where a Knull-infected Galactus threatens the world. Heroes from across the multiverse are brought in to fight for their survival, including characters from the Age of Apocalypse and House of M. Plus, you’ve got new series like Black Panther: Intergalactic #1, which sees T’Challa kidnapped to a mysterious planet, and Hulk Smash Everything #1, where the Hulk tries to prove he’s stronger than literally everything.

Spider-Man and Winter Specials

Finally, in “Spider-Verse Madness,” Peter Parker finds himself in a dire situation, stranded in the vastness of space in Amazing Spider-Man #17. Simultaneously, Miles Morales is locked in a fierce battle against his nemesis, Rabble, in Miles Morales: Spider-Man #41. The excitement doesn’t stop there, with new issues also available for Spider-Girl, Spider-Man: Noir, and All-New Spider-Gwen. For a more lighthearted read, check out Marvel’s Winter Break Special. This one-shot offers a fun and relaxing escape, showing your favorite heroes enjoying some downtime on the slopes and in a hot tub, a welcome change from their usual high-stakes adventures.

It’s clear that December is going to be a packed month. With so many major stories reaching their climax and new ones just beginning, it’s a great time to be a comic book reader.
