DC’s latest comic, Batman #1, has already sold over 500,000 copies, hitting this major milestone just ahead of Batman Day on September 20th.

This new series, which reimagines Gotham City with a brighter, more classic superhero feel, is helmed by writer Matt Fraction and artist Jorge Jiménez. The creative team has also given Batman a sleek new Batmobile and a stylish blue-and-gray suit.

The overwhelming demand for the comic has led to a second printing, set to hit stores on October 15th. This new printing will feature a recolored logo, and new variant covers from artists like Dan Mora. With the first printing selling out quickly, DC encourages fans to grab their copies while they can and ask their local comic shop to add the second printing to their pull lists.

It’s a new era for The Dark Knight, which hits a major milestone with Batman #1.
