Marvel Comics is set to revisit the iconic origin of the Fantastic Four this summer. A new one-shot, Fantastic Four: First Steps #1, written by Matt Fraction and drawn by Mark Buckingham, will retell the team’s first adventure.

The comic is timed to celebrate the fictional fourth anniversary of the Fantastic Four’s public debut. According to the announcement, this retelling is presented as being “authorized” by the in-universe Future Foundation.

Fraction, known for his previous work with the FF, expressed excitement about putting a fresh spin on the well-known origin story alongside Buckingham’s acclaimed superhero art. The issue aims to appeal to both longtime fans and newcomers unfamiliar with the team’s history.
