If you thought your high school breakup was messy, wait until you meet the “it” couple of Manderlay Preparatory High School. Arriving tomorrow, February 3, 2026, Blood Honey is the debut graphic novel from up-and-coming creator Sean Peacock that turns teen romance into a literal survival game.
Vanessa De La Mora and Edgar St. Claire are the envy of their school, currently poised to be crowned homecoming queen and king. But behind the perfect smiles and school royalty status, the duo has grown resentful.
Rather than a simple “it’s not you, it’s me” conversation, they’ve both independently reached the same conclusion: their lives would be much simpler if the other were dead. What follows is a high-stakes, “cat-and-cat” game of increasingly elaborate murder attempts.
Blood Honey is described as a high-concept satire that leans into the intrusive thoughts of high school drama. The aesthetic is a unique blend of:
- Midcentury and Retro Aesthetics: Drawing from vintage comic art and psychedelia.
- Macabre Tone: A “Burton-esque” world that balances horror with dark humor.
- Vibrant Art: Despite the dark themes, the story is brought to life with vibrant, vintage-stylized illustrations.
