Green Lantern Corps #5 is a fantastic read that continues to prove why this series is a must-have for any fan of cosmic adventures and great character interactions. Jeremy Adams and Morgan Hampton are doing a fantastic job, blending exciting action with emotional moments for a truly satisfying experience.
This issue picks up right where the last one left off, with our heroes stuck in the “Mind Maze.” We dive into the memories of Teen Lantern Keli Quintela and Simon Baz, but things aren’t quite as they remember, hinting that something is definitely off here. Meanwhile, Guy Gardner and his new partner, Narf, are in a wild firefight with Evil Star. The entire setting, inside a dead Starro, with places like “Stomach Street” and “Gastro Galley,” is wonderfully quirky and adds a unique flavor to the adventure. And speaking of quirky, the hilarious addition of Space Cabbie has the potential to make him a new fan favorite!

DC Comics
One of the standout moments of this issue has to be Narf’s transformation; it’s a seriously awesome scene that’ll make you cheer! The creative team does a wonderful job of mixing the humor (especially when Guy Gardner’s antics are involved) and adventure, keeping the pace dynamic and engaging from start to finish.
The artwork by V Ken Marion and Serg Acuna is simply fantastic. It has an anime-like quality that brings the action to life, especially during the thrilling chase scenes. The details are solid, and immerse you in the various set pieces and intense moments. By the end of the issue, the Lanterns are finally united, leaving you with genuine excitement for what’s next.
The only real downside is that it’s a quick read, and while enjoyable, the stakes aren’t very high. However, if you’re looking for a Green Lantern comic that honors the series’ history while blazing an exciting new trail, full of action, heart, and genuine laughs, Green Lantern Corps #5 is a whopping fun time and a testament to the creators’ vision that every Lantern feels important, with clear personalities and roles.
