The DC Comics 2026 slate is shaping up to be one of the most experimental years for the publisher in a decade. During the recent ComicsPro presentation, DC confirmed that the next evolution of their lineup involves a massive status quo shift for both the younger generation of heroes and the dark streets of Gotham City.

Fans have been waiting for a fresh direction, and bringing in the creative powerhouse team of Kyle Higgins and Daniele Di Nicuolo to tackle a new Teen Titans relaunch is exactly the kind of energy the brand needs right now.

Who is creating the new Teen Titans series?

This summer, the acclaimed duo behind the massive Power Rangers: Shattered Grid success is taking over the Teen Titans. It is a brilliant move to pair Higgins’ knack for team dynamics with Di Nicuolo’s high-octane visual style. In this version, Red Hood takes center stage, which is a total curveball for the Bat-Family veteran. Jason Todd discovers a hidden network of missing powered teenagers and finds himself leading a “hyper-capable” group of new heroes. It feels like a gritty, tech-forward reimagining that moves away from the classic sidekick tropes we have seen for years.

Seeing Jason Todd in a mentor role is a fascinating choice because he has always been the black sheep. This series looks to explore the “lie” dividing the hero world, and Red Hood is the perfect character to expose those cracks. The story seems to be tapping into modern themes of connectivity and systemic distrust. It is a bold departure from the usual Titans Tower drama and positions the DC Universe to actually grow its roster of young talent instead of just recycling the same five characters.

What is the DC Bad Seeds event?

If you thought Gotham couldn’t get more dangerous, the Q3 2026 event titled Bad Seeds is here to prove you wrong. The setup is wild: Vandal Savage has somehow become the Police Commissioner and is using a private army to hunt down vigilantes. Even more shocking is that Pamela Isley, our favorite Poison Ivy, is now the Mayor of Gotham.

When her political allies abandon her, she makes a move that turns the city into a prehistoric jungle. This “long, dark night” features art by Giuseppe Camuncoli, Cliff Rathburn, and Tomeu Morey, promising a visual spectacle that looks like a beautiful, green nightmare for the caped crusaders.
