Alex Ross is launching a massive new project called Marvel Dimensions, a graphic novel published under the Marvel Arts imprint from Marvel and Abrams ComicArts. It’s landing in shops on September 1, 2026. Ross is handling both the writing and the painting for this reality-shattering story. It serves as a spiritual successor to his previous hit, Fantastic Four: Full Circle, as it explores the mythic origins and early eras of the greatest Marvel icons.
The Marvel Dimensions Variant Cover Series
Marvel is giving fans an early look at the art starting this June. They’re releasing 18 Variant Covers From Marvel Dimensions across the monthly lineup. These images are actually pulled directly from the upcoming hardcover. Much like his previous Timeless Variant Covers, these pieces focus on the Avengers, X-Men, and the Fantastic Four in a realistic, dramatic style. Ross used his signature award-winning talent to craft these classic group shots and heroic portraits.
“I’m really excited for people to check out Marvel Dimensions,” Ross shared. “These variant covers are just a small look at the ambition I put into the entire project.”
