In Predator vs. Spider-Man #3, the chase intensifies into an explosive three-way conflict as Peter Parker faces off against Skinner, the rogue Yautja whose brutal tactics make him a threat unlike any Spider-Man has encountered before. Crafted by writer Benjamin Percy, with striking art from Marcelo Ferreira, Jay Leisten, and Frank D’Armata, the issue pulls readers into a relentless clash of predator and hero.
Previously, the battle heated up when Predators attacked the Daily Bugle, forcing Peter to defend J. Jonah Jameson. Meanwhile, Mary Jane is trapped in Skinner’s lair, fighting to survive. Kraven, unaware of the full danger, thinks he’s closing in. With one issue left, the story rushes toward a final, high-stakes showdown.
Peter Parker finds himself fending off a trio of Predators that storm the Daily Bugle, all while trying to keep an ungrateful J. Jonah Jameson out of harm’s way, which, let’s be honest, is typical Jameson behavior. Meanwhile, Kraven the Hunter is tracking the rogue Predator known as the Skinner, unaware that the other Yautja attacking the Bugle are after the same target. At the same time, Mary Jane Watson is doing everything she can to stay ahead of the Skinner. No easy task, especially when she’s trapped right in its territory.
Marvel Comics
My biggest gripe is that Skinner, who’s basically the reason all this chaos is happening, only gets one page in the whole issue. For someone who’s supposed to be the main villain, that just doesn’t cut it. He needs more time in the spotlight to really feel like a threat. Meanwhile, Detective Pearl only shows up for a couple of pages, which makes sense. She hasn’t done much to move the plot forward yet, so keeping her in the background for now helps keep the focus where it needs to be.
As the second-to-last issue, it feels like there’s still a lot that Benjamin Percy hasn’t revealed yet. What exactly caused Skinner’s exile from Yautja society? What’s Mary Jane’s way out of her current situation? How will all the plot threads tie together with only one issue remaining? These unanswered elements make it seem like the story needs more room to breathe. Percy has crafted an engaging narrative so far, but it’s clear that an extra issue would have given him the space to fully explore and resolve everything. Or maybe he is setting things up for a sequel?
The artwork stands out with impressive detail, especially in the portrayal of the Yautja during combat. Each Predator has a distinct, menacing look, thanks to the combined talents of Jay Leisten, Frank D’Armata, and Marcelo Ferreira. A particularly striking scene involving rats is rendered so vividly it blurs the line between comic and live-action horror.

The issue’s highlight is the intense battle between Spider-Man and the three Yautja. Marcelo Ferreira captures a fast-paced, brutal clash that showcases Spidey’s agility against the Predators’ deadly weapons like plasma casters, spears, and blades. Spider-Man’s quick reflexes and inventive web-slinging keep him in the fight, while the silent Yautja provide a striking contrast to his nonstop quips. This showdown plays out just as fans would expect a perfect match between the witty web-slinger and the deadly hunters.
Predator vs. Spider-Man #3 relies mostly on its fast-paced, explosive action to carry the weight of a story that still feels thin on plot. The intense fight scenes provide the thrills fans are looking for, but the narrative hasn’t quite hit the depth it needs. Hopefully, the final issue will bring all the threads together. With Benjamin Percy gearing up for Predator Kills the Marvel Universe later this year, there’s also a chance the ending will lay the groundwork for that upcoming series.
