Marvel isn’t pulling any punches with their upcoming series, boldly titled “Death of the Silver Surfer”. Dropping this summer, the story helmed by Greg Pak (writer) and Sumit Kumar (artist) promises a harrowing final journey for the beloved cosmic wanderer.
The core conflict? A powerful new adversary emerges with the terrifying ability to wipe the Silver Surfer from reality entirely. This forces Norrin Radd into an impossible position where his next move could either save him or condemn him forever. Writer Greg Pak hints at danger coming from multiple fronts – a surprising human-based threat from Earth and an unprecedented cosmic menace.
The preview pages give us a glimpse: starting with the vastness of space and Galactus’s hunger, the action quickly shifts as the Surfer is drawn back to a war-torn Earth. We see him descending onto the battlefield, where he’s met by some of Earth’s greatest heroes (fans of the Fantastic Four, take note!).
