The DC Elseworlds imprint is gearing up for a massive summer. DC Comics just pulled the curtain back on three major titles hitting shelves in 2026. We’re looking at a fresh survivalist take on Kara Zor-El, a role-reversal origin for the House of El, and the highly anticipated return of a medieval fan-favorite. These stories live outside the main continuity, giving creators the freedom to break the rules and reinvent icons.
Supergirl Survive Reimagines the Flight from Krypton
Ethan S. Parker and Griffin Sheridan are teaming up with artist Rod Reis for a harrowing story titled Supergirl: Survive. Most fans know the story of Kara Zor-El arriving on Earth years after her cousin. This series throws that out the window. It centers on a teenage Kara and an infant Kal-El trapped together in a prototype rocket while Krypton dies behind them.

The stakes feel immediate and desperate. Parker and Sheridan previously earned Eisner nominations for Kill Your Darlings, and their move into the DC Universe suggests a gritty, emotional tone. Rod Reis brings his signature style to the visuals, which should help capture the isolation of two refugees drifting through a hostile galaxy. You can look for the first issue to land on June 3.

Superman Father of Tomorrow Flips the Kents’ Discovery
What happens when the scientist escapes instead of the son? Superman: Father of Tomorrow explores a reality where Jor-El crash-lands in Kansas. Writer Kenny Porter and artist Danny Earls are handling this “what if” scenario. Instead of a baby in a blanket, the Kents find a grown man with a genius-level intellect and godlike powers.

It’s a fascinating pivot for the Superman mythos. This version of Jor-El has to navigate Earth using both his Kryptonian strength and his scientific mind to protect his new home. This series kicks off the summer wave slightly earlier than the others, with a release date of May 27.

Dark Knights of Steel II Continues the Medieval Epic
Tom Taylor and Otto Schmidt are returning to the world of high fantasy with Dark Knights of Steel II. The original series was a massive hit for DC Comics, blending sword-and-sorcery tropes with the Justice League. Details are still mostly under wraps, but we know Yasmine Putri is returning for cover duties.

The sequel aims to expand the borders of this medieval DC Universe. The first volume left plenty of political tension and magical fallout to explore. With a launch date set for July 15, it’s the final piece of this initial 2026 Elseworlds rollout. It’ll likely be the heavy hitter of the mid-summer season.
